Featured Retailer of the Month

Valley Artisans and Vintage Market will be 6 years old in June.

The shop has its origins as The Design Bungalow, which opened its doors in June of 2008 where Valley Artisans is now.

Design Bungalow started as an upholstery and window treatment shop with a few home good products. Owner Janice Brotherton began painting and restyling furniture, and as that part of the business flourished, it exploded into Valley Artisans and Vintage Market in 2018.

Janice grew up in West Peabody, MA. Her parents bought Bald Ledge Stables in Freedom, NH, in 1975, so she and her husband and then-2 year old daughter followed. They lived and worked on the farm before purchasing and moving to their own home in Bartlett.

Her inventory comes from many sources: auctions, picking, people selling their estates, or down sizing, She has some consigners, but most of the inventory is her own. Janice carries hand-made items, repurposed items, and vintage collectibles.  She offers a large selection of chalk paint colors and supplies, plus NH-made items and gifts.

Among the services that Janice provides are furniture repairs, refinishing, and restoration. She can custom-paint your own piece or one from her shop and turn it into something unique that you'll treasure.

"People love visiting the shop, walking down memory lane," explains Janice enthusiastically," and the young people think all the vintage things are cool, They ask questions and are very interested."

When you visit Valley Artisans and Vintage Market, you'll appreciate all the love and energy that Janice has poured into her business and will understand why her motto is We're soon to be your favorite shop!
