About Us

The White Mountain Independents was founded in 2016 as a nonprofit organization to work with the local independent business community. Its goals include creating an economy that values the people and the planet and provides prosperity for everyone. We recognize, and are working to counter, the very real threat of growing online markets and big box stores that could destroy what makes us special.

Local means the business physically resides in the Mount Washington Valley – we are not representing businesses across the United States.

Independent means the owners live in the Mount Washington Valley – we are not part of a national chain.

We support the local independent businesses by providing resources for those businesses such as group advertising, guidance on issues for small businesses, and chances to network with one another at member meetings.
